A bridal shower is being given by Carol Donnelly and Suzanne Hanlon for Julie at the Hanlon home in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, on Saturday May 7th. Shower starts at 2 pm, by invitation. RSVP by April 25th.
The rehersal dinner is being held the night before the wedding (Friday June 17th) at the Water Street Cafe, 300 Water Street, in the GasTown neighbourhood in Vancouver. Dinner starts at 7 pm. Family of the bride and groom and participants in the wedding ceremony are invited to attend. The bride and groom, parents, and ceremony participants will attend the rehersal at the church first (at 5:30 pm) and will meet guests who are attending dinner at the restaurant afterword.
The wedding ceremony is being held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church at 2465 Crown Street at 10th Avenue at 1pm on June 18th. Parking is available on the street on both sides of Crown and West 10th, but it is recommended that attendees take a taxi to the church. We will be renting busses to take guests from the church to the recepetion and then back to Vancouver - we MIGHT also be able to pick guests up and and take them to the church - but this is NOT definite at this point. Check back in a few months for more updates, and see the Wedding Reception below for some additional details.
The wedding reception will take place immediately following the wedding ceremony. The reception is being held at Domaine de Chaberton, a restaurant and winery in Langley, British Columbia. Langley is in "the country", approximately 1 hour southeast of the City of Vancouver. Transportation by chartered bus will be provided from the church to the reception. At the end of the evening, the bus will stop at two or three places to drop passengers off: Julie's parents' neighborhood (also the location of the bed and breakfast), and downtown Vancouver (near the Hampton Inn), are two of the definite possibilities. It is recommended that attendees take a taxi to the church ceremony, that way, you will not have to worry about driving home late at night. The bus is being provided for the convienience and safety of all of our guests, and it is strongly recommended that you take it. Please indicate on the RSVP card whether you intend to take the bus or not.
The reception will include a cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. Guests will have three or four options to choose from for an entree. Tours of the winery will also be availble for those who are interested.
The bride and groom will be having a lunch for their friends the day after the wedding, Sunday June 19th, at 12 noon at Milestone's in Yaletown. Lunch and a selection of beverages will be served. Cash bar will be available. A lunch RSVP card was enclosed with the wedding invitation. Please return this card along with the weding RSVP, indicating whether or not you will attend.
